IMPELLITTERI: New Album To Sound Like SLIPKNOT?
August 12, 2003IMPELLITTERI's as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2002's "System X", which is currently being recorded with producer Greg Reely (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD),will apparently mark a significant musical departure from the band's previous neo-classical offerings.
Says mainman Chris Impellitteri, "The record at this point is the best record IMPELLITTERI have done. We sound completely fresh and energetic. The music has a lot of the new Swedish metal scene vibe. It is heavy heavy! Greg Reely is helping us with the sound of the record. Imagine bands like FEAR FACTORY, or DISTURBED, or SOILWORK or even SLIPKNOT, with technical guitar solos. So far so good!!"
As previously reported, the forthcoming CD will not feature a return appearance by vocalist Graham Bonnet (MSG, RAINBOW),who sang on "System X". The band are said to be considering several candidates for the singer slot and expect to make a decision very soon. A late 2003 release is expected.
